Course Program 1
Skill Building
(in German language)

The curriculum Skill Building consists of four modules of 90 minutes. It imparts knowledge and skills for scientific working, (self-)management, interaction and teamwork skills. The program started in 2013 with the two modules “Presentation“ and “Team Building“. The first module focuses on the redaction of successful publications, posters and presentations as well as on an efficient handling of literature.

The module “Team Building” focuses on innovative and creative techniques and strategies for effective team building and team working. The focal point of Module 3 “Communication” will be on oral presentations, behavior in important meetings, organization and documentation of meetings.

Course Program 2
Medicine & Management
(in German language)

In the course of their careers, many ophthalmologists will assume managerial responsibilities as team leaders, senior physicians, chief physicians or doctors in private practice – tasks for which they normally are not prepared by their studies of medicine. This is exactly the approach of the program “Medicine & Management“.
In six courses of 90 minutes each, insights into the important business and health management topics are given, such as “Leadership and Motivation”, “The German Health System – An Overview”, “Economic Outlooks – An Introduction to Business Administration”, “An Introduction to Medical and Commercial Controlling”, “Setting Targets Successfully”, “Appraisal Interviews”. These courses have been designed primarily with clinicians in mind.
